COWS MILK AT 1 YR OLD

I know it's been asked a million times over, but my poor old brain can't remember so please humour me! Can I/should I just ditch the formula overnight or do it gradually? Can't remember how I did it with DS1. And can he just have it at breakfast and bedtime? TIA

If you're giving formula, I would mix milk and formula together, gradually increasing the former and decreasing the latter until he is on cows milk. The taste is quite different so it might make it a smoother transition.

(can't quite work out how I will manage it with ds, as he doesn't have formula!!)

i did it overnight! was planning on doing it gradually, but decided to try it straight and see if ds would take it.
he guzzled it down and we haven't looked back!

Thank you Miaou - I thought that was probably the best way. He's only 2 weeks off his birthday, so think I'll start - anything to get rid of the bloody bottles!

Hi Starlover - maybe I'll try that too! Anythoughts on how much milk - breakfast and bedtime I think?

well i don't want to start a big debate (my last thread got rather heated!) but I replaced all ds's feeds with cow's milk.
he still has 3 or 4 feeds a day

Merlinagain · 28/03/2006 22:23

how old is he starlover?

13 months

Thing is he is not really that interested anymore, but maybe he will prefer the taste of cows milk and want a bit more!
