Hello,
We have just started baby led weaning and all going well with the basics (plain veg, fruit etc).

I'm want to offer some more interesting food now. We shared butternut squash soup yesterday (he sucked/chewed it off chunks of bread) and wanted to try and share some pitta bread, humous and avocado for lunch today. Is that OK for a 6 nearly 7 month old?

I've ordered Gill Rapley's book and the River Cottage Cookbook, but until they arrive I'm kind of making it up!

Thanks x

The only thing that isn't ok is honey and anything that's considred a choking hazard (whole nuts, whole grapes, whole cherry tomatoes etc). And obviously if your family has a history of food allergies, you'd have to be careful when introducing known allergens.

Have a look at

Oh and too much salt because their little livers might have problem handling it.
