Baby rice labelling

How do they get away with labelling suitable from 4 months?' when the official line is 6 months?

It really doesn't help when you're facing the army of 'just give him/her a bit of formula/rice/rusk/steak and kidney pie to fill him up....'
'ohno, they say nowadays not till 6 months'
'not on the packet i bought this morning....'

Probably more because the minimum age is 4 months. While 6 months is recommended, it isn't unheard of for doctors to recommend weaning from 4 months if there are health issues.

But surely that's 'suitable from 6 months, unless advised by a healthcare professional?' or words to that effect.

when the weaning age changed baby food manufacturers didnt have to change their packaging so it always says from 4 months despite most up to date guidance

In the small print it says something about 'doctors don't recommend weaning until six months but every baby is different'

Which sounds to me like they're saying 'u no ur own bebe hun'
