When can they start eating ALL normal adult meals like salads?

We eat kid friendly food every second day (alternating with the preferred salad on the others days, which is when DS15 months eats the previous nights leftovers). But I want to know when they start to eat salad? He has no idea at the moment what to do with it and just plays with it.

When people are saying "salad" what is it that the baby doesn't eat that's covered by that? With our salads we generally have Chicken or Salmon, 15mo DD can eat an entire salmon fillet or most of a chicken breast and she'll also have potato or garlic bread or whatever else we're eating, As well cucumber, avocado, tomato, leaves, beetroot whatever.

DD eats off our plates exclusively, other than when I'm doing breakfast, because I don't breakfast. And when she's snacking and we're not it may well be something we don't eat - she snacks on cheerio's for example. Some things she doesn't really like, but then that's the same with me and DP - I don't eat avocado, but DP and DD do so they eat it.

Aren't steamed veggies pretty much as low cal as salad?
