Weaning issue

DD2 is my third child. My other 2 weaned succesfully and happily, no problems and tbh DD2 isn't having a problem. At 7 months shes doing great, it's me thats the issue.
DD1 is now 7 yo. When she hit 4 she went through a phase of eating too quickly and choking. Proper tip her upside down shit she's going blue type choking. I have first aid training so could deal with it but it scared me. She's over it now, has been for ages but it's seriously affected the way I'm dealing with DD2. Finger food brings me out in a cold sweat. She loves rice cakes but I hover over her to an unhealthy extent and pounce if she even looks like shes gagging a bit.
Lumpy food is fine but again, I can feel myself tensing up ready to deal with a choking incident that hasn't happened!!
I think I need a slap....

Was that helpful? Grin

What happened to dd1 must of been scary but you dealt with that. If dd2 did ever choke (and thats a very small risk) you have the added bonus of being first aid trained.

I know I can deal with it, thats not really an issue in itself, its just the hovering over her and swooping in like a bloody banshee if the poor thing starts to even gag a little thats becoming an issue! I know i'm doing it too, which somehow makes it worse...
Many more slaps may be needed, but thanks Grin
