Newly weaned baby throwing up milk....why??

Will try to keep this short but am in a bit of a tis so apologies if i ramble...

DS is 6 months and 1 week, we've been giving him solids for just over a week- mix of finger foods and some mashed veg on a spoon. Still bf on demand, and trying to offer food at our lunch and/or tea time depending on how days work out.

In last few days he has been throwing up quite a bit of milk. Not proper vomits but a large posset iykwim. He was not a sicky baby when very young though has been more sicky in last few months as he began to move lots and jiggle his dinner about. this has been much more than usual, though, and after almost every feed today.

He recently got his first tooth and second one looks close. Not sure if that's relevant, but maybe extra saliva would cause sick?

The whole weaning thing is freaking me out, seems so much more complicated than milk. So am perhaps unreasonably worried about this sick. Is it an allergy? Am I feeding him too many solids? Too much milk? The wrong things? At wrong tines? Is he not ready?( he is showing nhs signs and def swallowing etc)

Can anyone suggest why he might be throwing up and tell me if I should be worried?

Don't know why he is being sick sorry blossom but do know that if you are bfing it can't be because he's having too much milk.

Have you thought of just offering the finger food and leave the mashed veg to see if it improves?

If not you might want to stop offering solids for a week to see if things improve. He may just not be ready yet.

Thanks Jilted, as ever you are a font of calm weaning wisdom Thanks.

Gave him a solid-free day yesterday and he has returned to normal sick levels - will try finger-veg only for a while and see how we go. If only because I think me freaking out about it all is unlikely to be helpful in the 'have fun with food' process!

Ta again.
