Im slightly confused about how to manage three meals a day and three bottles? where does it all fit in!?

My son is 9 months old and this is what he is having at the moment

First thing he has a bottle (6oz)
around 1 hour later he has Poridge

Lunchtime he has a bottle (5oz) then a fruit pot

At tea time he will have a meal (what ever we have) and desert (usually a pot)

then he will have his nighttime bottle (9oz)

he also has water or juice throught the day and with each meal.

I am wanting to introduce a full meal at lunch now but i dont know when to give him his lunch time bottle now?

What time does he have his breakfast and what time does he have his lunch?

Steph4589 · 06/09/2012 11:10

he has his breakfast at 9am and luch at 12/1 depending on how long he naps for in the morning. he naps around 3pm each day and wondered weather to give his 'lunch' bottle then but im worried he then wont eat all his tea?

How about giving him his bottle at 12 and his lunch at 1? He probably won't eat that much but at least you will be getting him used to eating with you and eating family meals.

Once he is one you can drop the formula and bottles and he should have 300ml each day, including milk in foods like custard and yogurt.

I will try that, Thank you (smile)

Sorry, should have said, once he is 12 months its 300ml of full fat cows milk a day! Didn't say what he should be having 300ml of Blush.

How did it go?

Hi my ds is nearly 9 months and is pretty similar to you. 6oz at about 6.30 porridge and water about an hour later. 6oz bottle at 11.30 and lunch of beans on toast or pasta or veg followed by a yoghurt or banana at around 1pm. He then has tea at about 5.30 what we have and a fruit pot and 8oz milk before bed at about 7.30. Obviously this changes depending on naps and if we go out but this is what I aim for.
