Peanut butter?

I made a very yummy yam stew for dinner and wondered if I can give it to DS, who is nearly 11 months old? It has yams, chickpeas, sweetcorn, tomatoes and a tbsp of peanut butter with low sodium stock.

We did BLW so he can handle chunky food but am concerned about the peanut butter. Some say it's ok from 6 months, some say 1 year? What are the risks apart from triggering an allergy?

Only triggering an allergy, possibly choking if crunchy/whole nut PNB.

Personally given the amount that's in it unless there is a family history of nut allergies I would give it to him.

I 2nd bella's advice. smooth peanut butter on wholewheat bread is a good snack for when baby is older.

Yup it's a good protein source also. Apparently more allergies are appearing now as people aren't trying until later

Best place is to try now at home on a variety of all foods then if you are out/ abroad you don't have to panic about them potentially having a reaction away for hospitals etc

Ps - banana and peanut butter is a favourite here with little ones
