Stupid weaning question

I have been weaning DD for several weeks now (almost 7mo) and we're now up to three meals a day. I know babies under a year still get most of their nutrition from milk but when do i give her her milk?

I.e. when she gets up in the morning do i give her a bottle first then do breakfast a bit later or the other way round? Same for other meals? Does it even matter?

Told you it was a stupid question...

I think whatever works for you. My ds is 9.5 months and we do approx:
7am milk
8-9am breakfast
11am milk
1-2pm lunch
3pm milk
6-7pm dinner
7.30pm milk
bed

No stupid questions...

we had the same sort of timings for milk and similar timings of meals except dinner was around 5pm

At your little one's age my dd's day went like this:
Milk on waking
8am Breakfast
10-10.30am Milk feed
12.30pm Lunch
2.30pm Milk
5.30pm Tea
7pm Bedtime milk.
(2.30ish - cheeky 3oz feed!)

The 10am bottle was the first one she dropped (after a week of her taking 1/2 oz and then refusing I stopped offering) and her 2.30 one is on the way out. As is her 'on waking' one I thing. I replaced the mid-morning bottle with a snack when she dropped it and will do the same with the afternoon one. x

Thanks for your replies ladies! Very helpful....I think that's roughly what we're doing at the moment. Seeing it written down helps....I just felt before I was randomly offering milk or food but it actually fits your 'patterns' quite well. Smile

It's not stupid I'm wondering the same thing! It's just trying to fit in milk and solids around nap times starting to feel as if I'm feeding all the time but just getting into some kind of routine I suppose. My dts are 6 1/2 months and are having 3 pureed meals now they are upping their solids intake and resucing milk at thos feeds so have decided to give milk an hour or two later just before a sleep. It sounds complicated but once you put whjatever works for you into practice you get into the swing of things. I try not to worry too much about the routine of others as every baby is different (dt1 eg can stay awake half an hour more than dt2 grr). Your baby will let you know if she doesn/doesn't want milk at a solid feed then maybe just give it to her later so it becomes more like a drink/snack? and as the other poster said in due course replace the milk with a snack if she's happy to. Weaning is a lot more confusing than I thought!

Shock at all the typos. Back to school for me....
