Porridge fingers without a microwave

Porridge fingers sound absolutely perfect for my DD but I can only find recipes which involve a microwave. Please can someone who knows more about cooking then me let me know how to make them another way....I'm hoping the answer isn't too obvious Blush

I've never heard of a porridge finger!

I'm imagining something similar to a flapjack so assume it could be baked in an oven?

The only porridge fingers I know of are the ones on DS's hand after he's squished his lovingly prepared breakfast and smeared it over the kitchen.

I've never put him in the microwave though.

I am intrigued to find out what they are!

I have a recipe and I'm sure it gives alternate oven baking instructions. I'll have a look later and post back. It's a recipe from a BLW cookbook my DH bought. I thought it was a waste of time as they're supposed to eat what you do but has actually given me some great ideas and has broadened our own diets.

Right here it is

3tbsp porridge oats (not 'instant' oat cereal)
3tbsp milk

In a bowl, soak the oats in the milk until you have a mushy mixture.
Press the mixture into a small, flat-bottomed dish or bowl using the back of a spoon. Cook in microwave for 2 minutes on high (I do it for 1.5mins as my microwave is fierce!) or in oven for 15 minutes at 190c/375f/gas mark 5.
Cut into fingers whilst still hot and serve when cool.

Thank you, you're a star!
