i am a bit puzzled as all i give her are home blended purees like sweet potato, pear, carrot etc and the occasional jar. i think it might be that she doesn't like lumps or certain textures but not sure. she mostly does it with sweet potato, as she's 7 months i tried to make it a little bit more lumpy than before but she seems to only be able to eat anything that's perfectly smooth. sometimes she will even gag while i'm BFing her! i want to try her with finger foods soon but not sure how she'll react! anyone have any tips? i really don't want her to throw up all over me.... thanks in advance :)

Perhaps she has a sensitive gag reflex? Just try to relax, gagging and choking are different and if you are worried about choking why not do a first aid course? Your local Children's Centre might run them or try British Red Cross.

If she is gagging when you bf her, do you have a forceful letdown?

If her being sick over you is a worry, you could always pass the spoon over to her and sit back Smile.
