Have also posted this in the feeding forum as didn't know where was best...

Ds is 28 wks and after extolling the virtues of BLW to everyone I basically chickened out so he is mainly on purées.

So he's on 3 meals and our day today, which is fairly typical (apart from the fact he slept more than usual)went like this:

6:30 - Woke up
8:30 - 30 min nap
9:30 - breakfast- cereal with approx 3oz breastmilk + half a leftover fruit pot
10:45 - fell asleep in buggy on walk for 1 hour
12.15 - lunch out- tommee tippee cylindrical pot of homemade purée with about 1oz breastmilk mixed in- ate about half, 2 of mummy's chips and a 55g 'Plum' fromage frais
1.30 - fell asleep in buggy in way home-about 45 mins
4.30 - another 30 min nap
5.15 - tea- 2/3 avocado mixed with 50ml breastmilk
7pm - bedtime

So I haven't included any milk feeds because basically he has hardly had anything all day long. He had 3oz expressed milk in a bottle before his lunch and maybe a further 2oz expressed milk from his sippy cup throughout the whole day

He was ebf to just before 6 months when we started introducing solids but we had many issues along the way. I have offered him bf's all day long but he gets really quite cross about it and just will not feed. To be honest I'm not surprised by this daytime nursing strike and tbh I wouldn't really mind if he just took some fluids in a bottle or sippy cup or whatever, but even though I kept offering he just wasn't interested.

We have definitely been progressing towards this for quite a while now, with him having less and less daytime feeds but this is the first day he basically hasn't had anything all day.

Interestingly he still feeds at least twice at night and I just about managed to coax him into having a good bedtime feed once he was sleepy (I have tried this tactic with naps but it hadn't worked)

Anyway, sorry for the epic post...basically what it comes down to is i'm just worried about his fluid intake and wondering, is he having too much food too soon?

Not really surprised he doesn't want bfing ag when he is having all that for breakfast then lunch less than 3 hours later Smile.

Is there a reason that you are using bm in his food too? Does he have a cows milk allergy?

I would try to offer a bf an hour before his food and offer a bf when he wakes up at 6.30, then his breakfast at 7.30, if you can manage it. He should then be hungry enough for a big bf at around 10.30ish.

I'm not trained though so you may want to post on the breast & bottle section or speak to a BFC about your concerns Smile.
