BLW - how much food?

We started BLW when DD turned 6 months almost 3 weeks ago. I'm just wondering whether I'm giving her a big enough quantity of food to eat/play with? As an example, if we're having a sandwich for lunch, I give her a couple of cucumber sticks, approx a 1/4 slice of bread, a bit of the filling filling, a couple of chip size slices of pepper and then a small piece of fruit. She doesn't eat all this and I don't expect her to yet but is that enough? I'm just thinking that if you work on a principle that they'll eat a certain percentage of what they're given, should I be increasing the amount? I usually put some extra at all mealtimes on the edge of my plate so if she disintegrates everything I can give her more but just wondering what everyone else does? Last night we had fish and pasta so I gave her 3 pieces of penne pasta, a separate dollop of sauce and the tail piece of the fish.

I love that - such a common misunderstanding....

After saying food should make up a good proportion of the infant's diet, you interpret that as though I said food should make up ALL of an infants diet, or even a majority.

Please find a reputable resource that says 'food is fun til one'. I really don't mind being wrong on this one. I've been looking for this information for a while. But I'll be surprised if you'll find a source to back up what forevergreek said back upthread, that milk-fed children grow just fine til two.

I never said food is for fun until they're one, usually if someone says something is a good proportion of something, it's over 50%, I wouldn't describe something that should be complementary as a good proportion. I started this thread with a specific question about BLW and you've turned it into something else, you really seem to have a bee in your bonnet about BLW. Why even bother posting? I put BLW in the title hoping it would attract those who could answer my question, not people with their own agenda.

Didn't anything I said sink in? I'm sorry OP, you can't dictate how a thread will run. My comments were to address some of the odd quotes on here. Will try and do with other threads as/when I can be bothered (don't post that much). A genuine wish: I really hope BLW works out for you. It did for my DSis as I said ealier.

do the same* with other...

and btw, the only agenda I have, if I have one at all, is to tackle common misunderstandings being bandied as fact.
