BLW and poo

Hello,

My daughter loves food and is getting on great Roth weaning at 6.5 months old.

However, for 2 days now she has been straining regularly but only produced frequent tiny poos.

Should I not worry or is there anything I should//could do to help her?

Thanks.

What is the poo like when it does happen? Hard, dry and like pellets or still quite liquid and soft? If it's still soft and runny then it probably isn't constipation but more a change in bowel habits because of a change in diet (i.e solids rather than pure liquid).

She needs plenty of water/liquids. Orange juice (with bits for the fibre) or prune juice will both help. So will plenty of fruit and veg.

If it persists and she seems in pain or discomfort it's best to see your GP.

They are pellet like.

I am breast feeding, not so clear on the guidance of other fluids. Is juice ok?

Thanks.

Water and juice fine from 6 months (almost all foods fine from 6 months).

Offer more feeds too, even if she only has a couple more snacky feeds per day it will only help.

Do you know any baby massage moves? Massage can really help gets things moving. Look on youtube for a demonstration if you haven't done a course.

If nothing has moved by Friday I would make an appt to see the GP if I were you.

Thank you for the advice. I'll up the feeds, thinking about it she hasn't taken many recently. I'll try juice too and see.
