Anyone weaned early due to vomiting?

Just a query really, am seeing my gp tomorrow on hv advice to see if ds (20 weeks) needs gaviscon or something. He is sick all the time, varying amounts, he doesn't seem bothered by it and is gaining weight ok but I was just wondering if anyone has weaned early because they had a sicky baby and if it helped at all? Just wondering if introducing solids a bit earlier would be a better alternative to medication.

ime it just varied the colour of the puke ! As dd got more mobile it got worse before it got better (once she could sit properly and walk)

DD1 had pretty bad reflux (ended up losing weight) and was on domperidone which helped her to gain weight. Weaning her at just shy of 26wks did nothing to slow down the vomiting, as LIZS says it just varied the colour! It did get better close to 12m though and she then gained a tonne of weight. She's a very tall and healthy (but still slim) 6y now.

I tried weaning my DS early due to vomiting but like everyone else has said, it only changed the colour of the sick! Can't wait for all the vomiting to stop....

thanks everyone, i suppose milk coloured vomit is less offensive so i will hold off for a bit! will see what the doc says tomorrow. the hv says he needs 8oz because he is draining 7 but i think he is fine (he lets me know when he is hungry) i just think 8oz would just make him vomit more. am fed up of constantly wearing eau de vomit though and dont get me started on the 15 minute bib changes! at least he is not bothered by it, i will look forward to the variety of colours on offer in a few weeks

With a reflux baby I'd be inclined to feed smaller volumes more frequently than try and get more down in one go tbh. Obv. be guided by your DS but if you could offer smaller more often that might help minimise the vomiting.

DD was weaned at 4 months due to reflux on the dr's advice

I found a massive change in dd, she was hardly ever sick with solids
