Can you freeze rice pudding / rice

DD loves rice pudding and risotto but so far I've ended up throwing a lot as obviously you have to make a certain amount and she only eats a baby portion.

Can you freeze them given they are rice based?

I dont know about rice pudding but I used to freeze leftover risotto. It is fine as long as you dont leave it sitting round at room temperature too long. Portion it up and freeze it as soon as possible. You could also keep it in the fridge for 24 hours. Reheat to piping hot before serving.

I've frozen both risotto rice and rice pudding with no problems. DD loves them both and has done since the early weaning stage. Hadn't really occurred to me there could be much risk. I do generally freeze them soon after cooking, but sometimes they have spent quite a while in the freezer (months)! before being used again, which is probably not considered "best practice".

I think I'll give it a go then. Thanks!
