Ready or not!?!

Dd 24 weeks and can sit unaided, seems interested in food and general seems ready. (started Ds1 at 22w and he never looked back) did a mixture of purée and finger food. So today she seemed ravenous and grumpy, so I though I'd try a bit of baby rice.
She really enjoyed it, cried whenever I stopped and grabbed the spoon to put it in, BUT she still seems to have the tongue thrust reflex as she'd stick her tongue out shortly after each spoonful and most of it would come back out.
Thoughts would be appreciated, do you think I should leave it a couple of weeks or keep going as she did enjoy it?

I think you could do either or!

I think I would probably back off spoon feeding for now and try again next week, but it is really up to you. If you would really like to continue you could always try offering some fruit/veg for sucking and gumming? That way you are carrying on the idea of eating but still giving your DD time to lose her tongue reflex?? HTH

Thanks for the replies. I tried again today and she seemed to really enjoy it again and most of it stayed in. I'm in no rush to advance at all. I was planning to do more BLW this time, but she just seemed ready for something. I though BLW was a total no no until 6months?

She's nearly 6 mo isn't she? I can't work in weeks anymore! I'd think it ok to do some blw if you think she'll manage. I'm a great believer in mum's intuition, so go with what seems right.
