Struggling to get any DD drinking anything but milk, she chomps down strawberries, apricots, courgette etc - apart from banana what should I avoid giving her?

Anything else I can do - she's so upset when she poos

It could be the fact it's a lot of new foods so her system is a bit over whelmed. I had the se with DS so would stop for a few days and he'd clear out again then I'd slowly introduce different foods over a number of days. DD is going the same way so she only gets 1-2 types of food. I'm currently trying to resettle her as she has tummy ache after one chunk of sweet potato. Her tummy is very sensitive :(

Ok - so did you just not give anything for a few days or stick to just one thing? She's eating everything in sight and think I've rushed it Sad

I'm in the same boat 6 month old monster DS is 22lbs HV very keen on me giving food and dropping milk he is good at drinking water but been having small rabbit like poos for days.

My mum has suggested a little bit of Orange juice diluted in water to try and help him not sure if that would make things better or worse.

Hes on 3 meals a day refuses nothing and I feel I've rushed it too. If I drop back on the food won't be sure where to restart.

Me too - she's 18lbs and in 3meals a day and just loves it but I've clearly done too much too quickly.

Struggling to get her to drink anything out of bottle, sippy cup, straw etc

Can I just reduce food to one thing (like strawberries r something else that will get things moving) than stop totally?

It's obviously really hurting her to pass anything Sad

I completely stopped. Because it was quite bad. I made sure I BF loads - and just gave small bits of easy to digest stuff (chicken, gluten free pasta) and minimal fruit and veg. By 9 months he was on three meals a day and fine.

There's no rush to solids - I had to keep reassuring myself that. And repeating "food for fun until they're one". DD does ok with an open cup, can you try that? I hold it for her and she takes tiny sips.

I actually started loosely following the gina ford plan too (meals not routine) which gave me some structure. With DD she sits with us at breakfast and tea (she naps at lunch) and only has porridge in the morning. Tea will be small bit of meat and carb. She self feeds with her hands - no spoons.

Have you heard of BRAT foods? I hadn't until DD got severe constipation at 6.5 months - we're talking screaming when pooing, hot sweats and shaking. They stand for Banana, rice, apple and toast. They're the foods you give to babies when they have dioreah. So I cut them out on the basis that they would bind her up. I tried giving her prune juice in her water but she wouldn't drink it so I put prunes in her porridge but it didn't make any difference, I suspect it was that bad. So as she was on 3 meals a day I gave her foods which exclusively have high fibre and only those types of food, so prunes, apricots, strawberries, courgette, brocolli, spinach and avocado. As it happens DD needed to be prescribed medicine because it was so bad, but she only needed 3 days worth and then I moved to the above foods and gradually started to alternate them with other veg but I still stayed clear of the BRAT foods. I'll now give her apple and banana but only twice a week. During the constipation we were having a mini heat wave so I made sure to give her extra water but you should do that anyway with constipation, just leave her cup available to her all day, but obviously be around when she drinks.

By the way, DH's gran said that she gave her babies chocolate pudding for constipation and is sorted them out by the end of the day. I didn't try it but thought it might be worth a mention...
