Is it safe to give cows milk to an 8 month old to drink? Not as an alternative to her breast milk, just additionally to other foods I am weaning her onto?

Yes totally safe, just not as the main drink.

Think government guideline is 12 months

My personal experience was mixing cows milk with dd porridge at 7 months. And it seemed to cause a random sensitivity to her formula, and breastmilk (I wasn't dairy free!) I'd never do it again. Been to hell and back! X

As a mixer it's fine as long as there are no allergies within the family.

Just remembered DS was allergic as a child so I will hold off a bit longer. Thanks everyone.

Just realised DS = Son. I meant my sister! And it was 30 years ago. Really hope I wouldn't forget my son's allergies...if i had one. Blush
