Just that really.

Yes because they only eat tiny pieces so you can happily scoff the rest ;)

I can't remember it was years ago I had to worry about such things but I can't see why not it's just a variety of bread - and nice and chewy soft too.

As long as they don't eat much; crumpets are surprisingly salty! (iirc 2 crumpets is a adult's whole daily salt allowance, or something like that anyway)

No untidyhouseuntidymind an adult would need to eat more than 12 crumpets to get their daily salt allowance. A 6 month eating two entire crumpets would get their salt limit - but then they'd also get too many calories particularly carbs too.

Crumpets are also within the exact same range of saltiness of most other breads (but a single crumpet is larger than a single slice of most bread) so the same issue would apply if the question was about bread.

Oops, I obviously didn't recall correctly. Sorry about that, not sure what I was thinking of.

Have just been goggling, and brand vary somewhat eg warbutons have 0.81g salt each vs tesco 0.5, so that's proportionately a lot more (although still baby/adult would have to be eating a lot of crumpets to have a problem!)

Oh! Now i've remembered the conversation where I got this from - it was some discussion about a can of baked beans and two crumpets being nearly an adult's full salt allowance.

In my feeble mind this morphed into crumpets being akin to sea-water or some such. Just ignore me in future everyone. Thank you.

Well, a baby under a year is only supposed to have 1g of salt a day, so one Warburton's is IMO too salty - I stopped giving DS crumpets for this reason.
