Just started weaning 6mo DD, am I supposed up be offering her a drink with her food? Does water need to be cooled boiled water or will a filter do?

Yes, can be tap water. I asked my HV the exact same Q last week. Most important if FF, BF babies will be OK with foremilk.

Just plain tap water is fine.

Still offer water as it teaches them how to drink from a cup and gets them used to the taste etc but breast milk should hydrate them sufficiently I think.

for info i started offering my 6mo water as soon as we started solids. just a few sips for practice more than anything else and also to have something on hand if she got thirsty mid meal. if you saw the state of her during lunch you won't want her anywhere near your boobs until she was hosed down. unless the feeling of dried lentil stew handprints (and nose prints and forehead prints and ear prints)

Thanks - yeah I thought just for practice then saw photos of DS at 6months drinking by himself put of a sippy cup and panicked!
