Floormat

Can anyone recommend a floor mat to go under D's highchair? Is there one which you can either wipe or put in machine?

Ds had roast cod with new potatoes and asparagus tonight which he mainly hammered to a pulp with his fists, gummed and then it dropped from his mouth to the floor each time he went to put in the next mouthful. By the time I got to wipe it up from the floor it had solidified into a type of fishy glue. I'd have loved just to pick up a mat and bung it into the machine

I've just got some cheap plastic table-cloth material which they sell at the local market on rolls so you can get as much or as little as you need. It goes in the washing machine and comes out fine.

I've just started to wean DS2 and I'd forgotten just how messy it is Smile

I used a cheap shower curtain

This is why we got another dog so quickly Smile

Was just thinking a dig would solve the problem Grin

Shower curtain, 2-3 quid replaced every now and then.

I have this one. It's not exactly cheap but I love cute little stuff for babies Grin. We also take it out for picnics (put on top of the picnic mat), and a shower curtain would be a bit unwieldy.

I use this picnic blanket www.matalan.co.uk/fcp/product/fashion-to-buy-online//Brights-Picnic-Blanket/51489&resultsPerPage=100&attrList=Dept,brand

In fact I have another one for the floor to play on, when I leave dd with no nappy as it is waterproof.

Iwantcandy · 25/05/2012 19:15

Onelittlebabyterror - can that one go in the machine?

you can get lovely splash mats from poundland, either wash in sink or replace when manky.

Lovely. Thanks for posting everyone

No, it's just a cute looking shower mat.

OneLittleBabyTerror · 25/05/2012 22:23

I mean shower curtain plastic.

Tancub · 26/05/2012 20:02

I got the stripey circular one from JoJo Maman Bebe. It wipes clean or goes in the machine and folds up really small when I don't want it out. Used every day for 10 months so far and in perfect condition despite coming into contact with all manner of foods.

ChippingInNeedsCoffee · 26/05/2012 20:07

What sort of flooring do you have?

If it's a (sealed) hard floor I'd just buy a steam mop - fast, easy, hygenic.

Iwantcandy · 26/05/2012 21:24

Wooden flooring with a heavy rug

I put our cheap plastic shower curtain in the washing machine on a hand wash setting. No harm caused to washing machine or shower curtain.
