I started giving DD solids 2 weeks ago at the age of 6 months. For the first week her poos changed as expected, from yellow milk poos to slightly darker more solid paste. However for the last 4 or 5 days she has changed from 1 poo a day to about 10, in all sorts of colours from green to orange, fairly runny with some solid bits and evidence of small lumps of carrot etc. (apologies for posting this at nearly lunchtime!).

Is this just her body getting used to solid food? Or does this type of reaction suggest she might be intolerant to one of the foods I've given her? Or might it be a tummy bug?

The foods she has had are carrots, 4 grain porridge, fromage frais, cauliflower, broccoli, melon, cucumber, mango, banana, apple and pear.

She seems ok in herself, not snotty or sick etc. Should I keep her on just milk for a couple of days until her system sorts itself out? She's mainly BF with 7oz ready mixed formula each day.

There's a lot of fruit and veg there with little fat , carbs, protein. I would carry on with solids but add things like cheese, toast, breadsticks etc to see if that helps.

Bits of undigested fruit/veg is pretty normal, I saw some stunning poo when we gave DS baby sweetcorn for the first time Grin

She's chomping on some toast now, so hopefully that will bind her up a bit!! Grin

I think it's fine. I started weaning my DS about a month ago and for the first week or so he was pooing a LOT..... Almost every nappy. Now it's back to once or twice a day. I put it down to his little guts just getting used to things as he was the same when I introduced some formula feeds. Hang in there, buy some nappy cream (metanium is magic stuff) and I'm sure it'll pass. If its still happening next week I'd go to the docs to be sure xxx
