Cow and gate cereal question

Selyna · 13/05/2012 07:54

Just wondered, it says make it up with baby's usual milk, dd has formula twice a day still (10mo)
She has a different cereal thats like weetabix that I make with normal cows milk, would it be okay if I made her fruity crunch cereal with cows milk too, or shall I stick with making it with formula for now?

use whatever is more convenient .

Selyna · 13/05/2012 08:39

But I'm not going for convenient? I'm more asking if it is definitly okay to use cows milk as it refers to 'usual milk' on the box!

As she's over 6 months you can use cows milk. Or formula if you would prefer Smile

I use cows milk in my 8 months cereal - its fine. She prefers it I think - seems to wolf it down quicker than when I use formula. Only use formula now if she hasn't taken much of her morning bottle.

I've been using cows milk in cereal for ages (my DD is also 10mo). I am going to switch to cows milk as a drink though when she is a year so I want to get her used to the taste. It's fine.

I would use cow's milk if she drinks the recommended amount of formula every day (I think it's about 500-600ml/day). If not, I would use formula until she's 1.

thanks guys she is only on two 8oz bottles a day now and has breakfast lunch and dinner in between so by sounds of it she almost having enough formula at the moment, i only use approx 3oz making up her cereal so will stick with how im doing it for now. :)
