BabyDan vs Tripp Trapp Chair?

Any advice on high chair? Keep being told how amazing the Tripp Trapp is - does anyone know the difference between this and the BabyDan sold in John Lewis? Look pretty similar to me...... Or any other recommendations? Thank you.

As far as I can see, the baby dan chair doesn't have a 5-point harness. The tripp trapp you can buy it as an extra. Some babies are very good at escaping. Mine can get out of any lap belt by 12mo, including ones without a foot rest. She couldn't actually walk yet, and definitely doesn't get sitting on a stool either. So giving her a little table with a little chair is out of the question. If the risk of you having a escape artist doesn't bother you, then I can't see why a dan chair woudln't be just as good.

Btw, I assume this is your first? I can tell you it's a nightmare when you can turn around just to get a spoon, and come back to find a baby standing on the high chair seat, or half way climbing onto the dining table.

We have Tripp trapp and bought five point harness too, it's been brilliant, but sorry say can't help with comparison. Agree with poster above, was scary enough to see baby standing up even with five point harness, worth the investment.

Ours are 7 and 9 and still sit on trip traps at the table. DS never escaped from his though after a couple of hairy moments with DD (one involving her escaping and helping herself to half served up red hot Sunday dinner while we were bringing the rest through and the other involving her escaping and being found dancing on the table) we got a five point harness. I feel I have to add that she doesn't need it now! Grin
