My 7m old DS is constipated (had a good although painful clear out yesterday)and have been advised on here to give prunes. I have pureed some and was going to add them to yoghurt but how ehem quick will I see results? Is it unwise to give them at dinner time?

I give mine DCs, who are both prone to constipation, prunes in the am several times a week. Don't give too much, try a little and increase if necessary. Otherwise you may have another problem! DD didn't much like prunes as a baby, but a small drink of a smoothie which she loved, did the trick.

Does your LO drink enough? The main problem with my DD was getting enough liquid into her.

DD eats prunes quite often, doesn't appear to make a blind bit of difference to her poo - does it only make a difference if they're constipated then? She's extremely regular.

He loves drinking water so has lots. Blended some prunes and gave them in breakfast - seemed to quite like them but only gave small amount. No poo today though!
