Shop bought pesto

Hello, just a quick question that hopefully someone can answer. Can my almost 7 month old dd eat pesto bought from shop? I know she can have whole nuts but I'm a but confused with other things that contain nuts. The red pesto I have lists almonds in ingredients and green pesto has pine nuts. There is no history of allergies in family. I eat a lot of pasta do would be great if I can give to her too!

Thanks in advance :)

if there is no family history of allergies then nuts and nut products are ok from 6 months. I would be more wary of the salt content tbh.

Thanks Smile

It would only be a tiny amount really. I will have a look for a lower salt brand when next at shops

My DS has had shop bought pesto on a number of occaisions, and as long as he has very low/no salt the rest of the day then im happy and so is he!

DD's eaten pesto from 5.5 months - it was her first solid food, a pesto-smeared tortellini stolen from DH's fork. Salt content is the main issue but if it's only a smear, I think it's fine. She loves it.

I make pesto - really quick and easy (I'm by no means an expert cook). Whizz up basil, pine nuts, garlic and a little Parmesan in a blender, then stir in olive oil. It's lovely!
