Babies have teeth! they're under the gums, DD could even rip apart meat with her front gums before the teeth came out visibly. Have you not been bitten by LO to see how strong their bite is?

Try here with some meat, or cheese or other stuff that's not carbs!

But she'll learn! what she eats isn't really important, it's learning to eat that's necessary.

How old is she? I didn't give ds stuff like raw apple/carrot that could break off into chunks until he was about 1. Squishy stuff, stuff that dissolves into mush like rice cakes and toast, and stuff to suck on like strips of meat are good at first.

i steam everything and she is 6 and a half months do i give thick long peices of meat or skinny or big squares or what?

You want the food to have a 'handle' ie big enough for your baby to hold it in their fist.

Choking is rare in BLW babies. You may be reassured if you read 'Baby Led Weaning' by Gill Rapley as it explains choking/gagging and how to minimise the risk. You definitely don't need to stick to soft food.

I'd give a strip, like a big chip size. Then she can hold it in her fist and gum/suck at the end of it.

yes iv read the book and she has had some pretty good gags but hasnt choked i just get nervous once she has teeth i think ill be less nervous
