Weaning and teething

Hi,

my 7 month old was doing brilliantly with weaning and now he's teething (front bottom 2 just come through and top 2 very nearly through) he's flatly refusing to eat any solids at all! He just screams at me if I try! Is this normal? Or has anyone got any tips on what to do? At the moment just giving him more feeds- but feel like we're going backwards!!!

ruthy please don't worry about it, it all sounds completely normal. Its not a step backwards either, at 7 months milk should form the major part of his diet so don't worry if he's not eating.

Try him with a teething gel like Dentinox and some ibruprofen. You could also give him a clean wet flannel to chew on and maybe some cucumber.

Just keep offering the food and don't stress if he refuses, he'll start eating agan soon.
