At what age can babies drink water straight from the tap?

Dd2 is nearly 8 months.

I always thought that it was 12 months, but when I checked with mn wisdom most opinion was with 6 months - or when they started to drink the bathwater!!
I would think that you are fine at 8 months definately makes it easier when you are out and about

I didnt know it was six months and have been giving cool boiled water up to now. dd is nearly seven months. glad i came accross this thread.
