Introducing egg with family allergies

Hi all

DS has just turned 6 months and we are doing blw. DH and his brother are both quite allergic to egg whites. We saw the hv yesterday and she said we would be best off not giving ds any egg until he was a year old. Does that seem right? It rules out an awful lot of food!

He is breastfed, and also has a half sister who is not allergic to egg btw.

Any advice gratefully recieved!

Tory xx

Evidence is inconclusive, however the most recent indication is that early exposure is better and I'm much more inclined to the believe the data which suggests early exposure to allergens reduces likelyhood, so I'd give straight away.

And just keep an eye out for any reaction.
