DS2 was a real pain to feed, breast fed (dropped from 50th to 9th), bottle fed which had been difficult with him rarely taking more than 22 ounces a day at 5mths. Was ill for 3 weeks on and off, lost weight Sad. Once better milk intake upped a bit but not much and still a struggle. I decided to wean in an attempt to get something in him.............................

Well he feeds (food) like a pig, screams for more, and has now started to drink all his milk too? Why does he want his milk now when in theory he should be less hungry? (Not that i'm complaining, I'm blooming delighted just puzzled!)

Why should he be less hungry just because he is eating solids? They never stopped needing a feed every 2-3 hours. If they sleep 12 hours a day, there are only 12 hours to have 3 meals and 2 snacks. Most toddlers would still have milk feeds in addition to the solids for quite a while.

What I mean is most will still have a mornin and bedtime feed (during the awake hours) for quite sometime. They are growing and need lots of calories.

Also what solids are you feeding him? Unless its protein or carbs, they arent very filling.

I know he still need's lot's of milk it just struck me as odd that the baby who has never drank much milk at all suddenly wants lot's of milk once he started solids. not explaining myself very well! anyhow I'm delighted and can see my skinny baby filling out a bit. just following his lead but I'm a happy mummy. thanks for posting.
