So need a new highchair as now dc2 is starting to wean there is not enough room with my current one. It just takes up too much floor space. Of course I love the stoke one but high I don't have the funds for tge chair, the pad and the other bits, so what do you recommend?

Would something like a Chicco quickseat work for you?

Moredofbumsnet · 15/03/2012 14:34

We have 2 of these
for dc1 and 2 aged 7 and 5, we've had them for 4 years and they're fab BUT dc3 has an Antilop and that is brilliant too and so much easier to clean. And so cheap. Red kite do a new version called the bistro, seems similar. We've only used them without the bar thing.

I can't believe I'm the first person to suggest the IKEA antilop! It's ace and about 15 quid. You can get an inflatable insert for when they are small and it isn't annoyingly reclined like a lot of them.

Damn, must read posts more carefully... Knew it was too good to be true.

We have a Hauck Alpha, much cheaper than trip trap but still with the benefit of becoming chairs. The chairs are really useful. We didn't have one for DD1 until I bought a second hand one for DD2. We let DD1 use it until the baby came along and she was so much better sitting on a decent height chair, so we ended up buying a new one for DD2.

Flisspaps · 16/03/2012 13:23

LovesBeing Not sure - we've not found a table that we've not been able to fix one too yet (we've tried it on four different tables)

LovesBeingWearingSkinnyJeans · 16/03/2012 19:10

Thanks I've just got a hauck one from eBay for £15 Grin.

One question can you get tge cushion inserts like tge other makes? Do you think babydan etc would fit in it?

DillyTante · 16/03/2012 22:57

Not sure. We shoved a cushion down the back for a few weeks but haven't needed one since.

sleeplessinderbyshire · 18/03/2012 16:23

we had an antilop for 2yrs and I've just bought DD a babydan one from a Nearly New Sale for £10 as she had fallen for her friend's stokke one and I was too mean to shell out for one of those. The babydan ones often come up on embay for £15-20
