7 Month old now refusing finger foods or purees

DS is 7 1/2 months for 2 months he was happy, content and eating well having solids. 2 weeks ago he was ill, even struggles to get milk in him, if he had solids he was sick.

He's much better now but he refuses anything but his bottle. The HV said that its ok as he's having 5 or 6 7oz bottles and a bot of porridge.

My question is, what can I do to get him to have solids again?

It's a phase. Keep offering and eventually (probably without warning) he'll start up again. My DS hadn't even started eating much in the way of solids by 8 months, so your HV is right to say he'll be okay on milk.
