Puree combination suggestions/recipes?

I've just started giving my DS a few spoonfuls of puree at teatime - can't do BLW as he was prem and it's not recommended. I've been pureeing and freezing various fruit and veg, but was wondering if anyone has any suggestions for combinations he might like? Tonight he had sweet potato and apple, and loved it!

banana and courgette. Sounds revolting and I found it in an Annabel Karmel book, but ds used to love it. Spinach and sweet potato.

Of course, now ds is 2.5 and won't eat anything mashed/mixed or interesting.

I've been looking at the pre-packed combos then recreating at home. Fairly sure Plum have a website if you don't want to troll to the supermarket with notebook and pen!

Ooh, ta for suggestions, will have a look. Banana and courgette? Really? I would never have thought of that, will give it a go!

Hi feather I remember you from pregnancy and remember when your DS was born. Hope he is doing well. .

Haven't started weaning DD yet so have no advice..... Just wanted to say hello!

BTW, local library here has loads of books on puréed foods so may be worth a visit?

Hi Pastabee, DS is doing brilliantly, thank you! I'm going into town tomorrow so may pop into the library and have a look.

Purees that taste nice

Lentil, carrot and onion
Cheese, leek and sweet potato
Peas with garlic
Parsnip and apple

dd will eat pretty much anything so far but those are the purees that tasted reasonably nice to me

DS loved butternut squash and pear, it was very sweet but he ate it by the bowlful. DD used to like an Annabel Karmel one which was a mixture of carrots, sweet potato, parsnip and swede. I froze loads of bags of cubes of that one.

Once they could take a little texture both loved lamb stew.

I've been reading through the thread as wanting to start making my own, the cheese, leek and sweet potato one sound really nice, but the mother in law has told me that a baby should never have leek, is this not true?

featherbag · 15/03/2012 19:35

Eh? Never heard that one before I've got to say!
