BLW - 6mth old only seems to want to eat fruit is this ok?

I started BLW at 5 mnths and DS was eating bits of broccoli and veg etc but he has suddenly started to not really pick anything up unless it's fruit, he LOVES Mango and will eat it until the cows come home. However if I load a spoon with something else, chillie, mashed veg, tuna, lentils and spinach he will happily take the spoon and put it in his mouth and eat it. I now seem to be doing this so that he eats other stuff but I am still giving him lots of finger foods too at every meal but he's only picking up and tucking into the fruit, even stewed apple he eats easily with his hands but a tune croquette he won't pick up.

Am I doing anything wrong?

Should I avoid giving him fruit for a bit (I've read the BLW book and I understand that "They'll only eat what they need at the time etc") but I think it's weird he'll eat anything else off a spoon but only pick a few bits up with his fingers. He is extremely dextrous with food he wants/likes but anything else he can't be bothered and would rather me hand him a spoon of it.

So just to recap

tuna croquette on a spoon, fine, on the tray he won't pick up
veg on a spoon fine, on the table won't pick up.
any fruit in any way no matter how small, he'll pick up. (that and rice crackers, he will pick those up and eats lots)

any thoughts...?

thanks x

I do a mix of mash and finger food, as that worked best for me and my DS.

My 10mo determined little bugger lovely child goes through phases. Stick with it you'll find over time he'll be stuffing everything he can get his hands on. Fruit and veg is easier for their wee systems to cope with at first anyway. And some days he will refuse something that he loved the day before. They like to keep us on our toes!!!
