DS rejecting all homemade food!

Looking for anyone who has overcome this hurdle...

My DS is just 8mo and has been generally eating solids really well. He was diagnosed as allergic to cows milk protein 2wk ago due to eczema and diarrhoea - now on soya formula and non-dairy solids and he is much better.

initially I made all of his food then to increase variety introduced some bought jars/pouches. Recently DS has been rejecting everything I make! It is so annoying and wasteful.
e.g. I made a veg and lentil risotto (somewhat blended up) for him today - spat it out. Similar with spag bol - he wolfs down the heinz version!

Any advice???

I've said it before, the babies enthusiasm for the food is inversely proportional to the effort put into it's preparation Grin

I have heard of people putting home made food into a jar...

Baby Goo is a control freak and will only eat if she is holding the food, so we have had to BLW by default.

Patience, patience. It will get better! Maybe try mixing yummy home made food with shop bought stuff?

I found that once my dd started eating normal food like toast, grapes, blueberries etc that she would eat my homemade food. I think they get used to the super smooth stuff in pouches. Steer towards BLW slightly and maybe he will start to eat more of what you cook up. good luck.

Thanks for the suggestions. I love the putting food into a jar one! Unfortunately I never feed from the jar - always decant and heat - so that one isn't too much use. Think I will try to be less fussed about it and try again in a week or so. Mixing the food is a option though, may try that with pasta dishes first.

My DS eats ANYTHING if its got heinz vegetable stock on it. They sell it in cubes near all the jars of baby food and its really low salt.
I started putting lots on and then reduced the amount every few days and now he eats most things I make!

I never buy pre-made food either (mainly because all the vegetarian stuff seems to be only fruit!) find something he likes, and include it in everything and gradually decrease the amount, it worked for us and ds is currently eating plain courgette and lentils which must be rank!
