DS is 15mo, BLWed which has been ace. Has always eaten all sort and PILES of fruit. He had a virus a few weeks ago which knocked his appetite for a few days and he hardly ate at all. When he went back to eating he just wont touch fruit - I have tried LOTS of different types. I havent made a big deal out of it, just put it down and take it away/pick it up off the floor when he doesn't eat it. I am presuming this is something he will go back to eventually but its so frustrating, particularly as he really did used to eat absolutely loads of fruit before this virus. So, any thoughts/advice?

He maybe associating the fruit with feeling ill. It'll wear off eventually, I think just keep offering like you are doing and eventually he'll try it and remember it is delicious.

As a related amusement aside, I remember once getting very drunk on whisky Hmm but was put right off pizza for a year, as I had eaten that shortly before (what a combo! Tcha!), so tho it was the whiskey that made me ill going anywhere near pizza made me feel nauseus... didn't last though! Wink

Maybe you could try presenting it differently, i.e cutting different shapes, seating him in different position than normal, covering with yoghurt etc etc

It's possible snowbeetle and thanks for the reply. Though he hasn't gone off any other foods and I can't really see the connection between his illness and fruit.

I get what you are saying, but it wasn't like he was sick after eating a banana or whatever. I mush have offered about 20 types of fruit, tried in yog and weetabix too. It's so wasteful too!

I've just had a brain wave, I might try heating it!? I'm particularly bothered as he seems to have gone right off drinking water.

You're right it could be that he has simply gone off cold food. Our LO went off cold foods for about two weeks recently and would only eat hot meals three times (or more) a day. Maybe try hot fruit puddings and stewed apple etc? Apple pie? Blueberry clafoutis? (very easy, batter plus berries in oven till risen and brown).. what about banana or blueberries (with or without yogurt or cream cheese) mushed inside hot pancakes? Baked bananas or fried bananas (whole in butter) with cinnamon are good...
