Hiya
Have started giving dd meat, yesterday she had spag bol (well a little anyway)

I'm going to put some of the chicken puree with some veg and was wondering if double cream would go or would it be rather yucky

no idea but tinned chicken puree sounds vile!

LIZS · 23/01/2006 16:32

Wouldn't waste double cream on a baby ! tbh I'd mix a very little with fresh pureed "tried and tested" veg and see how it goes, not give just the chicken. Didn't even know you could get straight chicken puree in a tin, is it processed ?

Any kind of chicken baby food smells vile.

Carmenere · 23/01/2006 16:45

Personally speaking I would have a deep distrust of it unless it was organic. I just don't trust major food companies to be ethical about the ingredients they use and would not want to feed a processed food like that to my baby. I'm not against jars of food but tinned chicken puree sounds a bit dodgy to me.

Why not wait until you're having fresh chicken yourselves (roast or portions, whatever, just make sure it's organic or at least free range). Then you could cut a small piece off and blend it in a mini blender - maybe add a little liquid or the veg puree itself. Surely more wholesome.

its actually a jar sorry, still unused I should add, generally as a rule if I use jar foods they are organic and we were advised by dietician at hospital to give double cream and lots of other fattening foods well to fatten her up basically

I got a free jar of that in my Bounty pack. Looks revolting if I'm honest! Would be interested to hear if your dd likes it.
