DD is 8 months old and as a dessert today had fruit with mascarpone- thought it would be a nice full fat dairy alternative to yogurt but now I'm wondering if I should hang fire with the cream products until she's one, as is recommended with cow's milk...any thoughts??

Thanks lunatic, I do use cow's milk almost every day, but it's always heated to break down the proteins so it's easier to digest, whereas the cream is "raw"...

It's fine for them to have dairy but not milk as a main drink (it doesn't have the right nutrients). Sounds delicious btw!

Excellent, thanks. She already seems to have expensive tastes in dairy products :)

DD3 had at least 600mls of double cream a week (usually 2 lots!) due to poor weight gain and that was cleared by her Paed. She had it uncooked (e.g. mixed with greek yoghurt and fruit) and cooked in foods (e.g. mash) but was never given it as a drink though Wink
