If she has dinner at nursery at 3.30 will she need food at home?

So dd, just 1, has just started at nursery two days a week. They have dinner at 3.30 (!!) and a snack at 5 but I am likely to pick her up usually before the snack. Will she want another dinner at home? What can I give her that isn't an extra meal but will keep her full for the night?

I'd give her some toast before bed

My ds was in a similar situation a few days a week when he started crèche. I just used to offer a sandwich, yoghurt, fruit etc. before we started the bedtime routine. Sometimes he would be hungry and eat it but other times not.

I have the same with my DS as I pick him up about half 4. When we get home about 5ish I offer him a drink and a snack - usually rice cakes, toast or fruit and sometimes he wants it, sometimes he doesn't. He pretty much always has a drink, though.

I view it as swapping the times of his snack and dinner on days when he's at home - we'd have snack at half 3 and dinner at 5.
