using jars as cooking sauce

Can I use 4 month plus jars of baby food as sauces with chicken, pasta etc for my 7 month old? As I didn't feel too confident before in cooking for him he had jars up until recently, but he eats all homemade food now, but I have about 15 jars of baby food in cupbord. I don't want to waste them. I know they're not going to be as good as cooked from scratch but just to use them up. I don't feel now he is 7 months they are substantial enough and I don't want to go backwards by giving them as his main meal but I thought by heating up and adding them to chicken or pasta etc. What do you think? x

I use them as pasta sauces for my 8 month year old as we skipped purees.
