Hello everyone,
My 7 month old who i started weaning with at 5months ish doesnt eat much, sometimes as little as one spoonful and then he clamps and screams. He also will not drink from a bottle, he will sip from a cup but it goes everywhere, he has been on 3 meals a day for ages now but like i say doesnt eat much.
I'm confused on what i shoud be giving him, how much, what time, how often should i breastfeed him now, urrrghh help??
Thank you x

My advice would be to make meal times as less stressful as possible, have him eat at the table with you, let him see what you are eating and give him some food, and bf on demand as usual.

Babies normally want what you have, so tempt him that way.

Food is fun until they are one. I found myself stressing about her gagging and it used to stress her out too, now I have to disguise my stress but still stay next to her. I'm sure if you offer a variety of foods he will get better over time. My dd is 8 months and I have never seen her demolish a piece of banana as fast as she did today, and only a few weeks ago it took her ages.

good luck .

Don't stress if he can't eat lumps. DD2 had a problem with her digestion system as a baby, and couldn't eat anything lumpy until 17-months. I used to give her runny weetabix for breakfast, homemade pureed food for lunch and dinner and fromage frais. I also used to sometime puree fruit into runny porridge for her.
