Stopping B/F completely at 12 months

DD is 12 months. I always set that as a "target" for b/f and am now 5 months pregnant so in honesty, would like a break before DC2 comes along!

DD has a feed at bedtime, which I think she might give up-should I give her warm cow's milk instead?

And one about 5.30/6am when she wakes. This is the one that I don't know how to phase out. I've tried giving her water but she just keeps crying. I'm not sure about follow on milk as we've never gone for formula but am interested to hear any ideas/experiences how/when you phased out b/f completely.

could you give her warm cows milk in the morning too? Smile

Agree with Natzer, try warmed cow's milk in the morning. If DD is used to coming in bed with you for a bf it might be worth changing her routine and giving her a bottle in bed or taking her downstairs for some milk, although getting up that early might not be exactly what you want.

It may be worth ringing one of the Bfing Helplines and talking through how to drop the feeds with a BFC. Have you got the numbers?

You might also get more responses if you post in the breast & bottle feeding section Xmas Smile.
