Expressing in advance for rice later?

We began weaning on Wednesday;so for the lunchtime feed ds has one boob, while I express the other side to make up the rice that follows. Yesterday I expressed more than turned out was needed, so kept it in the fridge, but thismorning it had separated and smelled almost sour. I poured it away but now have a concern- how can we even so much as leave the house for the day if I have to express fresh every day? Or, if I were to express at the first feed and keep it for going out with later, do I have to carry it in a thermal container? Now I'm worried about being housebound forever! Am I sounding a bit looney-like or is this making sense to anyone?

Mine went off by the next day too. I noticed when I had mixed it with rice for brekkie- dd pulled a face and I tasted it and it was nasty ( nastier than usual that is!).Assumed it was just my milk as all the info they give you says 5 days or so.

fresh bm just tastes insipid to me and has no smell. if it is cooled down too quickly it goes through something called saponification - it tastes like soap. maybe that is why it tasted 'off' to you? Even if it tastes like this it is perfectly fine to drink. maybe let it cool down to room temp for an hour before you put it in the fridge?

IF its off, it smells off and tastes sour.

didn't smell mine but it was definately sour, as opposed to the usual bland taste of th rice!
