Snacks for 9 months old

DS is 9 months and seems to be giving up his mid-afternoon bottle. Yesterday he refused milk but was happy to eat yoghurt and a couple of cheese puffs.

We are doing a mixture of spoon feeding and finger foods, he has finger food with every meal. Some days he prefers to feed himself and some others he wants me to feed him and throws all the finger food on the floor.

My question is, what can I give him as a mid-afternoon snack which can be spoon fed? I can't rely entirely on finger foods, as he wouldn't be able to eat enough to satisfy him, but I don't want to always give him yoghurt or fromage frais. It's easy when we're at home, but we're often out and about at that time. Also, I don't want to give him jars every day.

I don't think I can help so much as all the snacks I give my 10mo are finger food. we do:
Cheese
Toast
Crumpet
Dried apricot
Raisins
Prunes
Halved grapes
Toasted teacake
Peas
Rice cake
Melon
Mango
I know not all of these are great for when out and about. I also keep in her bag for emergencies biscotti biscuits, small rice cakes and organix carrot crisps as these are ok for when she's in the pushchair. She seems to manage ok with these so I only spoonfeed at mealtimes.

My ds has fruit pouches, homemade fruit jelly and I also give him smoothies I make and add baby rice to to slightly thicken.

Thank you. Timeoutofmind, I hope I'll be able to do finger foods only soon, at least for his snacks. He loves the organix carrot puffs too, I think because they melt in the mouth and are so easy to eat.

Bonkerz, I like the idea of fruit jelly, how do you make it?

I add vegetarian gelatin (health food shops) to fruit puree. That's it!
