Weaning with food allergies

DS has just been diagnosed with severe cow's milk allergy so we're going to go dairy free. Has anyone got experience of this whilst weaning? We'd love some recommendations of decent cheese substitutes if anyone has any. Thanks!

Oat milk is good for making porridge/sauces etc. There are no good cheese substitutes Grin but I have had some 'cheese' slices from holland and barret which are not too bad when melted.

The organix range is fantastic. Most of their snack stuff is dairy free.

You should also be able to get advice over on the allergy board. Probably worth looking through some past threads.

Good luck. It's not easy but soon becomes a way of life Smile

Thanks so much for this - I'm new to Mumsnet so hadn't clocked the allergy thread. Appreciate the oat milk advice, sounds far more appetising than soya :)
