Finger food - lunch ideas

My DS is coming up to 7 months, started weaning about 4 weeks ago and so far think it's going well, he attempts everything offered and seems to enjoy it.

I haven't really bothered with purees, as we started at 6 months I started cooking without salt/stock etc and he's been having mashed up versions of our dinners, tends to feed himself these with loaded spoons and is managing fine and eating quite a lot, at breakfast he has cereals, porridge, fruit, yoghurt, but I'm getting really stuck at lunch times.

I have been giving him mainly finger foods, as we have more time then for him to make a mess get the hang of it. At the moment I'm stuck in a rut of rice cakes or toast with cream cheese/avocado/banana spread with wedges of ripe fruit and yoghurt. I'm worried that he's not getting enough of a variety, and also that it is making him constipated, despite lots of fruit and veg. I also seem to be simultaneously worried that he's getting too much salt and too much sweet stuff!

What does everyone else do?!

I mainly give DD muffins, burger patties, and fruit. The first two are easy to eat and freeze brilliantly. I tend to reserve the veg for dinner. Have a look at the BLW banter thread. There are lots of posts about what finger food we give our LOs.

Thanks that's great. I wouldn't have thought of savoury muffins, I think I could do with prepping more stuff in advance. I'll take a look at the other thread too.
