How much does your DC eat?

Hi all, my 8mo DS eats happily but I'm wondering if I'm feeding him enough/too much. For example he will easily eat 2 Ella's kitchen pouches plus a little Organix fruit pot (I feed him homemade stuff but the quantity is a bit random, perhaps 6 heaped table spoons of meat & veggies and 4 of fruit?) and then have a couple of baby biscuits and a little strip of cheese on toast.

Blimey just typing that it sounds like a lot! The reason that I'm curious is becuase he isn't really fat, I'm assuming that it's becuase he's crawling around all day, and just wanted to check in with other mums.

So, how much does your DC eat?

My 10mo can eat quite a lot too (I sometimes wonder where she puts it all)!

As long as you are giving him enough milk feeds I wouldn't worry about it. I always made sure I gave a milk feed about an hour before solids as this is much more important!!

My 11 mo has about three BFs, 1 8oz bottle of formula, a piece of toast, five generous tablespoons of oatmeal, half a banana, a yogurt, and about 10 icecube sized portions of fruit, veg, hummus, bolgnese, chicken whatever is lying around and a bite or five of whatever DH and I eat, per day.

She is really tall and on a lower percentile for weight than height IYSWIM, so she is using it all up. She is really great at letting me know if she is still hungry (signing food or screaming at me) or if she is finished (signing all done or shaking her head and pursing her lips). I think they eat what they need.

Whoa MrsTP - that's definitely put my mind at rest - that's a lot of food! Great, I think I'll make that little strip of cheese on toast into a big bit as I think he wants a nibble but I was worried I'd make his tummy burst :)

Whoa! HV told me off for feeding 6month old more than 2 ice cubes worth of food at a time!
