DS is 26 weeks and last week we started combo of baby-led + purees, pear puree was his fave and he couldn't get enough. I don't want him to get a sweet tooth so back to veg for a bit.

now he has horrid cold / cough and didn't want pureed b'nut squash so i've left food for the last 2 days, partly cos i think he's not in the mood with the irritation of sore throat and cough, and i also wannt to focus on hydrating him (he's ebf)

is that wise?

also tried offering water first in cup (refused) then bottle (refused - ok with emb but seems not to like the tasteof water! Anyone else found this? I never offered water til this week.

Thanks for any advice Smile

Yes I tended to stick to breastmilk only if they are poorly.

Water took a while for DS to get the hang of. Eventually we managed to get him to take some by using the tommee tippee cups without a lid (just to let him see, touch, try with me mainly holding it) and then once he liked that, put the matching coloured lid on the cup and give him that and he understood then what was meant to happen and didn't freak out when water came out of the spout! This was using the free-flow tommee tippee flip spout cups. I found any with a valve were hard for me to get water out of, let alone him.
